First Days of School

The first few weeks of school have gone well. Marc had to go to work a week early to get everything set for students who want to take entrance exams for math placements. He has put in a new math placement system which raises the bar for the students but it adds more work for him at the beginning of the year. He is teaching mainly the same courses as last year but he is also teaching Math Higher Level (IB) which includes calculus. As usual about 15% of the students move to/from other countries. As a result, we have some new very strong students which is always pleasant.

Stephanie is working every other day for about 1.5 hours. She is working with one student during the school day providing extra math support and instruction. She will keep this schedule until the baby is born and then take a few months off. She misses working but enjoys sleeping in and taking naps during the day... of course this is all going to change very soon!
