Merry Christmas

We stayed in Tanger for only one night and returned to Rabat on December 24th. We stopped by our local butcher and bought a leg of lamb and a whole turkey! We hadn't seen a whole turkey for sale since we had been here (they seemed to always have been sold just in parts). We had a leg of lamb (a la Julia Child's mustard sause) on Christmas Eve - its a good thing Marc packed the Julie Child cookbooks. On Christmas we went to church - Priscilla loved the African singing and colorful clothes everyone was wearing. All the participants at the church are foriegners and most are from West Africa. We opened presents next to our fake tree (Marc was amazed that they had fake trees for sale in Morocco). Apparently, even though Morocco is 99% Muslim, you can find Christmas decorations for sale right before Christmas. Priscilla noticed that there wasn't much wrapping paper for sale though.

On December 27, we put Priscilla and Dick on the train to Marakesh and Marc and Stephanie tried to recover from a busy Fall.
