Aid Mubarak

Today is the Aid Al Adha which is famous for the millions of people who travel to Mecca and for the sacrificing of sheep. Building up to the holiday, thousands of sheep can be seen grazing the area near our house and being sold. This morning around 10 am, the king sacrificed his sheep and then everyone followed suit. Apparently you can see the king sacrifice his sheep on t.v. but we didn't watch. We did drive around to see what we could see. We missed the main sacrifice time but we did see plenty of men (some with clothes soaked in blood) with very large knives walking around to help kill sheep. At about 12:00, there were lots of fires on street corners as people were burning the heads in order to cook the tender cheek meat and the brain. People are going to have a big feast tonight!

Amazing to see other cultures. We all have our bizarre ways.
