Yesterday was the last day of school. I was amazed to find out that about 1/3 of the students were traveling to some amazing places; Spain, France, Poland, New York, Orlando, Brazil, Germany (those were just the ones I asked. The rest of us are just enjoying Morocco without worrying about school and work.
Last Friday (Dec 12) we went to the School Party. I was asked to play with Dan and Alan (we first played during Thanksgiving). After one practice we played for the party and had a great time. We got lots of thank yous and hopes that this will start a tradition.
Marc joined an American Christmas band which composed of 5 adults and 15 middle school and high school students. It was a great excuse to play the trumpet. We practiced on three Sundays and then had two performances. The first was at the US Ambassador's house (Sunday). It mostly attended by US Embassy employees. There was Santa Clause played by one of the high school student's parents (he previously sang for a military band - I'm slowly getting the story) Great Christmas cookies were served and the kids loved getting presents. The second performance (Wednesday) was at the DCM (Deputy Chief of Mission) house. The party was organized by the American Women's group. There were a lot more people and the local TV station '2M' was invited. So that was the first time that I played for a Moroccan TV news program.
Marc's Parents, Priscilla and Richard, arrived on Thursday. We are looking forward to more adventures traveling around Morocco!
